Responsibilities as a non-household user of computer equipment:

As a school, business or government agency, you are responsible for ensuring that your used computer equipment is managed properly once you no longer use it.

Non-household facilities cannot dispose of any hazardous wastes in Colorado solid waste landfills.  Therefore, your color monitors and televisions, CPUs, keyboards, printers and other computer equipment may not be disposed in municipal solid waste landfills.   Your choices are:

a. See that end-of-life computers are reused or recycled properly;

b. Send it to a hazardous waste landfill for disposal; or

c. Manage it as Universal Waste.

Waste and Recycling Management Services

This program encourages landfill diversion through total waste management services. Consider the reaction of your customers when they learn that you have a 75% diversion rate. This can be accomplished when the responsibility of diverting wastes from landfills lies in the hands of the recycler. We will analyze your current wastes; work with your current waste hauler (when possible), and by incorporating our many recycling partners, we will provide reports quarterly on the amount of waste you have diverted from your local landfill. We do the work - you take the credit!
